An Osprey flied over New Mexico. Credit: U.S. Air Force
Last week, as we were putting our feature about the V-22 Osprey online, one crashed during a training exercise in Florida. No one was killed, but several of the Air Force crew members on board were injured. That number included U.S. Air Force Maj. Brian Luce, a pilot with the 8th Special Operations Squadron, who spoke to Popular Mechanics for that story. We're happy to hear that Maj. Luce has been released from the hospital, and we wish him and the rest of the crew members well.
If you want to know more about the complicated history and uncertain future of the Osprey, which has been a combat success but suffered a number of high-profile accidents, read the full story by PM Senior News Editor Joe Pappalardo.
