PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Gas is a penny cheaper this week in Rhode Island.
AAA Southern New England said Monday that the average cost of a gallon of regular gas in the state is $3.74.
Gas prices in Rhode Island have fallen eight cents in the last month, but the cost locally is still eight cents above the per-gallon national average of $3.66.
Rhode Islanders were paying an average of $3.87 a year ago at this time.
